Spring Break in St. George

So we headed down to St.George for Spring Break with all the girls and the kids. We had alot of fun going to the pool, the park, shopping and just hanging out at the house. We wish it would have been a little bit warmer but I guess 65-70 degrees beats the snow that we got at home. Kenedee had to get like 4 pairs of sunglasses and so Brooks thought that he needed some too. The kids had so much fun with all their cousins and we wish aunt Rachelle and her kids could have came too. We had a great time and hope to go again soon. Thanks mom and dad for letting us stay at the house.

EASTER 2009

We had such a great easter this year. We started off Easter with the annual easter egg hunt in Santaquin. We decided to take Deeds to that one because her cousins were going to be there. It was freezing cold and we could barely get her out of Nates arms to hunt eggs.

Then there was Easter Sunday. We woke the kids up to see what the Easter bunny brought, and then had to hurry up and get ready for 9 am church. Kenedee was so excited to see everything she got and Brooks just wanted the eggs that were balls because they are his favorite. Then we hit both the grandmas houses and the kids had so much fun with all their cousins.

...Are You Kidding Me?...

So Tuesday afternoon I headed home from work at about 4pm to meet a friend that wanted to look at our house. Nothing special about the day, just another day. Well, until about 30 seconds later.

I stopped at the stop-sign just on the corner of the property of the greenhouses, looked left, looked right, didn't see anything so I hit the gas to go across the highway and take the back roads to our house. A second later, DAMN! I didn't see car coming down the highway at 55-60 mph and I pulled right in front of her.

After impact, I spun a 180 and then rolled twice, (I think), I couldn't keep track with all of the glass flying all over the place and bouncing around the inside of the truck. I ended up in the passenger seat, sitting upright. No, I wasn't wearing my seat belt. I never forget to put the stupid thing on, but I was in a hurry and didn't remember. To be honest, I think that this was 1 in a million times when it was better that I didn't have my belt on. As you can tell from the pictures, the entire drivers side of the cab is crushed so I think I'd be a lot worse off if I was sitting in that seat the entire time.

After everything stopped, I climbed out of the passenger window as fast as I could to make sure that the other driver was OK. I was scared that I had just killed someone. I ran over to the lady's car and she was conscious and said she was OK, but she waited until the EMTs got there to move from the position that she was in.

All I can say is that I'm LUCKY! I feel humbled to be alive and not injured badly. All I got was a couple scraps on my face and some cuts on my hands. I haven't heard how the lady is, but I hope she's OK. Thank goodness for trucks. I've always believed that if you're in a bad wreck, you're better off in a big truck then a little sedan. I loved my truck, but I guess I'll have to start looking for a new one. Anyone know of a sweet deal on a new GMC Duramax???

My Sweet Boy's 1st Birthday!!!

I cannot believe it, my big blue eyed baby boy is ONE. Where has the time gone? It seems like only yesterday I held him in my arms for the first time. Brooks has been such a joy to our family, he is the happiest baby and he is so stinking cute. He is walking and has been since he was nine months. He is learning to talk and everytime I give him something he wants he says Thank You Mama. When he drops something he says Ah Oh, and when I say his name he says What. The past year has been so much fun with him and I love being a mom. I wish they could just stay little forever and snuggle with us. Happy Birthday Brooks we all love you so much.

We kicked off his Birthday a few days early with a combined B-day party with his cousin Linken at Grandma Barker's house where he loved the frosting on his cake.

On his birthday we took him to Chuch E Cheese where he was fearless and wanted to ride all the rides. He got lots of fun presents, and I think his favorite are his 4 Wheeler and his Lightning McQueen car. He had so much fun playing with all his little cousins and he gets so excited when all the kids get together. Thanks to everyone who came and made this day so fun for Brooks. Oh yah and along with the help of Aunt Summer I made the birthday cake. Not to shabby.

Finally pictures of Hawaii

Hawaii was a blast, it has to be the prettiest place on earth. We spent 10 days in Maui in 80 degree weather. We only got rained on the last two days and let me tell you it poured so hard we could hardly go outside. My favorite part was probably the Whale watching that was so much fun. It was peak season for whales so they were everywhere, one actually swam right under our boat. We ate at the best little cafe every morning for breakfast it's called the Kihei cafe so if you ever go to Maui and stay in Kihei you have to eat there. Our hotel was right on the ocean so we had a great view all the time. We had lots of fun and hope to go back someday.

ALOHA!!!!!!

Well it's finally here, tomorrow morning we leave for Hawaii. It is kinda bittersweet because I am so excited to go, but so sad to leave my kids for ten days. I know that tomorrow is going to be hard and I am probably going to cry my eyes out. Kenedee will be ok for the most part but Brooks is going to have a hard time, he is such a mamas boy. My wonderful sister Summer is going to keep them for us,so I know that they are in good hands. I dont think I will be able to sleep at all tonight I will be to excited and anxious but thats good cause then maybe I will get to sleep on the 6.5 hour plane ride. I will post some pics when we return, so for all of you enjoy this freezing cold weather and peace out!

Our house will be finished when we get home too, so I will post some pictures of that also.

ChRiStMaS 2008

We spent our Christmas up to the Cabin in Bear Lake this year. It's a tradition with the Olson side to go up with EVERYONE and take Christmas with us. It gets more chaotic every year. This year we had 3 more kids then we had last year. We're starting to run out of room for all of the gifts. This year we had 11 adults and 12 kids so it was a FULL house. We love getting together with everyone, though. We're lucky that everyone gets along so well and we all have a good time.

Of course, EVERYONE got spoiled. Our kids especially. Kenedee was SO excited to see all of her Disney Princess stuff. It was so much fun to watch her get overly excited about everything she opened.

Brooks got spoiled with a bunch of toys. His favorite, it seems, are his Drums and his Zoo. He's so much fun. He's walking all over the place now and must be the happiest kid ever. All he ever does is laugh and play all day long.

Nate and I both got some nice surprises. He gave me a cute KitchenAid mixer to match our new kitchen, a beautifully framed painting of the SLC Temple, and then I got spoiled with the usual clothes and such.

I surprised Nate with a signed BYU football helmet. He'd mentioned to me that he'd love to have one signed by Hall, Pitta, Unga, & Collie and I told him there was no way I could ever get that done. Little did he know, I called our "connection" with the Cougar Club and he took care of everything. Thanks Jeramiah! He also got spoiled with the usual clothes.

The kids did some sledding down our man-made bobsled track. Grandpa Bart took the time to make it and the kids loved it.

Nate, Brian, and my dad (Bart) went snowmobiling the day after Christmas and as usual, were crazy and had a ton of fun. Nate got a little too daring with a cornice and rolled the sled sideways. Luckily, no one got hurt. They have way too much fun when they go. So much, that they never let us girls go out with them.

We had a ton of fun this year at the cabin playing games, pulling late nighters with board/card games and just having fun with everyone. Thanks Mom & Dad for making this happen every year. Hopefully there's more to come in the future.

A Quick Update!

Our lives have been so busy lately that we haven't had time to do a post on all the changes that are going on with us. First off for those of you who dont know we sold our house at the end of October and are now living in Santaquin with my parents. We are building a new home in Spanish Fork, our foundation is poured and they should start framing it this week. Our builder is telling us we will be in by February and we are so excited.

The kids are doing great. Brooks started crawling a couple months ago, and is now starting to take his first steps, he is no pro yet but it is so fun to watch him try to walk I cant believe how fast he is growing up. Kenedee is just her usual busy self, and she is so excited for Christmas. Every day for the past week she has woke up and asked me "Mom is it Christmas today?" It breaks my heart to see the look on her face when I tell her no, but I know it will be worth the wait on Christmas morning, she gets so excited about everything. She is so funny, we took her to see Santa and she told him she just wanted a baby, a stroller and everything, we just laughed. I love my little kidos and am so thankful for them. There is no greater blessing than that of being a mother. Nate is busy as ever with work and school, I just want to take the time to thank him for all of his hard work that he does for me and the kids, we love yah babe. We are looking forward to Christmas and hope that we can all remember Christ and the true meaning of Christmas this year. We love all of you and hope that you have a GREAT Holiday Season.

P.S. I will get some new pictures posted hopefully within the next couple days!
